Kenesh Dzhusupov ( Kirg. Keshesh Zhusupov ) is a modern Kyrgyz writer, novelist and publicist. People's Writer of Kyrgyzstan (1999).

Short biography
Kenesh Dzhusupov (Kyrgyz - Kezesh Zhusupov) was born on April 14, 1937 in the village of Echki-Bashy of the village council of On-Archa Tien-Shan (now - Naryn) district of Naryn oblast in the north of Kyrgyzstan . By nationality - Kyrgyz.
His father is Sydykbek Imanaaly uulu. Mother - Turduubyub Moldogazy Kyzy. They had 13 sons, and Kenesh was their firstborn.
However, according to the Kyrgyz tradition , Kenesh was adopted by Jusup Imanaaly uulu, Sydykbek's elder brother. At that time, Jusup and his first wife, Turumbuby, did not have children. Subsequently, Jusup and Turumbubyu diverged, and Jusup married Suyun, who bore him six sons (Mukambet, Zhumabek, Kubanbek, Turat, Muratbek, Maratbek) and one daughter (Damira).
Kenesh remained to be considered their firstborn and recognized his father as an uncle.
Grandmother Uulbala was the main person who raised Kenesh during his childhood.
Kenesh began to read and write when he was only five years old. At that time, Jusup's father was the director of a seven-year school and Suyun's mother was a teacher.
He graduated from the seven-year school in his native village, then continued his studies in the neighboring village of Ottuk (both villages - Echki-Bashy and Ottuk formed the former collective farm "Communism", and now form the common village council "On-Archa").
In 1954, after graduating from the Ottuk secondary school, Kenesh unsuccessfully tried to enroll at the law faculty of the Kyrgyz State University (KSU, now the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn) in Bishkek (then Frunze ).
He began his working life in 1954 as an accountant on his own collective farm, worked as a rural librarian, secretary of the primary Komsomol organization.
Two years later he entered the Faculty of Philology of the Kyrgyz State University in the city of Bishkek.
In 1961 he graduated from the Faculty of Philology of KSU.
Since 1961, he served as Litso-worker in the editorial office of the “Tian-Shan Pravsy” newspaper in the city of Naryn, which was the regional center of the then Tian-Shan region of Kyrgyzstan .
In 1964 he moved from Naryn to Bishkek.
From 1964 he worked as an employee of Glavlit at the Council of Ministers of the Kirghiz SSR, from 1966 - as an editor at the publishing house "Kyrgyzstan", since 1968 - as an editor of the script department of the Kirgizfilm film studio.
Further, since 1973, he is a litsotrudnik in the editorial office of the magazine “Ala Too”, since 1978 - a litkonsultant of the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan in the Naryn region, since 1984 - in the sector on the artistic publication of the epic “Manas”.
In 1986 he was elected secretary of the board of the Writers' Union of Kyrgyzstan.
From 1987 to the present day he has been the editor-in-chief of the literary magazine Ala Too, which was the fairway of Kyrgyz journalism during the years of Perestroika .
Creativity
Reprinted from the 1950s. His first poem was published when he was still a seventh grade student.
His first story was published in 1958.
The first book (Zhashoo Kumara, Thirst for Life in Kyrgyz) was published in 1965.
The works of the writer K. Dzhusupov were published, in addition to Kyrgyz, in various foreign languages (in Russian, Ukrainian, Kazakh, Arabic, Tatar, Turkish, Uzbek, French, Czech, etc.).
Kenesh Dzhusupov worked on the artistic prose transcription of the Kyrgyz heroic epic “Manas” both in collaboration with A. Dzhakypbekov and independently.
Awards
For the book “Yr Sabyndagy өmүr” (“Life in Verse”) about the life and creative heritage of the poet Alykul Osmonov, he was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize in Literature in 1975.
He was a member of the Writers' Union of the USSR since 1966.
He was awarded the medal "For Labor Valor", the Diploma of the Supreme Soviet of the Kirghiz SSR.

Winner of the Toktogul State Prize of Kyrgyzstan (2004).
