On the island of Kivima, in the very center of the archipelago, a lighthouse rises, representing a brick tower 10 meters high and square at its base. The tower was originally painted white, but now most of the paint has peeled off. The focal plane of the lighthouse is at a height of 21 m. It gives two white flashes every 8 seconds. The lighthouse station was founded on the island in 1903. [1]

Whooper swans stop on the islands of the archipelago during periods of migration, [4] and in summer, in addition to migration, dives , terns, and gulls nest. [5] Separate individuals of the gray seal are also found on the islands. [6] A decision was made to include the archipelago in the 3 sections of the Ingermanland Reserve . [3]

Greater Fiskar crossed from Sweden to Russia in 1721 through the Nishtadt world . In 1920 - 1940 belonged to Finland . Until 1939 , fishermen from the Finnish village of Vatnuori engaged in ice fishing (the so-called “booth fishing”) among the islands of the archipelago. [7] During the Great Patriotic War, in the area of Greater Fiskar , RKKF torpedo boats conducted a systematic search for enemy ships. [8] In 1944 , the Finns returned the archipelago, whose territorial affiliation of the RSFSR was confirmed by the Paris Treaty of 1947.
