United Energy Company (St. Petersburg)

The company was registered on April 12, 2002 in the form of a closed joint-stock company within the framework of the Resolution of the Government of St. Petersburg to centrally resolve a wide range of issues in the electric power industry of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. In 2006, by decision of the General Meeting of Shareholders, the company was transformed into the United Energy Company Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC OEC).

In 2009, St. Petersburg Electric Grids OJSC (SPb ES OJSC) became a shareholder of the company. Thus, St. Petersburg, being the owner of a 100% stake in OJSC SPb ES, began to take a direct part in the management of OJSC OEC.

In December 2015, in connection with the transfer by St. Petersburg of a block of shares in OJSC SPb ES to PJSC Lenenergo , OJSC OEK became part of the group of companies PJSC Rosseti .

One of the first electric grid companies created as part of the reform of the electric power industry of the Russian Federation.

The company is a natural monopoly; the Federal Tariff Service of Russia is included in the Register of Natural Monopolies in the Fuel and Energy Complex.

The main activities:

• power supply to consumers - individuals and legal entities;
• development of electric grid infrastructure;
• operation of electric grid facilities (power lines, transformer, distribution and other substations, equipment designed to provide electrical connections and transmit electric energy);
• technological connection of consumers to electric networks.

OEC OJSC provides power supply to more than 3,000,000 consumers in St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Sverdlovsk, Novosibirsk, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov and Volgograd regions. Of these, in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, more than 2,000,000 consumers are individuals, as well as enterprises servicing the objects of life support systems of the population: heat and water supply, healthcare, transport.

Together with the EMERCOM of Russia , an emergency rescue team was created at JSC “OEK”, and employees of JSC “OEK”, in addition to access to work on electrical installations, have certificates of the Rescuers of the Russian Federation.

With a view to further developing the electric grid infrastructure, OEC OJSC is actively building its own power sources to provide electricity to new areas of mass residential development.

In 2016, in the Leningrad Region, the volume of electric energy transmission through the grids of OEC OJSC to consumers of electric energy, as well as in the network of adjacent grids exceeded the volume of electricity transmitted through the grids of network companies in Kostroma, Ivanovo, Arkhangelsk, Novgorod, Pskov, Jewish regions, the republics of Kalmykia and Mari El.

As part of its main activity to ensure power supply to consumers, JSC “OEC” implements the all-Russian program “Modernization of electric networks and medium and low voltage devices” “Energy for people!” The program provides for the implementation of measures for the reconstruction and technical re-equipment of power lines and transformer substations, the replacement of equipment of a special category of consumers - horticultural non-profit partnerships (SNT) on the territory of various constituent entities of the Russian Federation and affects more than 60 million consumers - citizens of the Russian Federation.

One of the most popular options for interaction with SNT is the reconstruction of electric networks on the basis of co-financing (the company incurs up to 55% of the costs).

The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation recognized the experience of JSC “OEC” in solving the problems of power supply of SNT as successful and recommended for distribution in all regions of the Russian Federation (minutes of the meeting with the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation No. SSh-166pr dated April 22, 2011).

JSC “OEC” created the only special structural unit in Russia - the “ Center for Work with Horticultures ”, on the basis of which citizens are received, consultations, specialized lectures and seminars related to electricity supply and the development of gardening infrastructure are held.

By the decision of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg dated 04.04.2012 No. P-155, JSC “OEC” was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg for its outstanding contribution to the development of the energy industry in St. Petersburg.

For uninterrupted and reliable power supply to enterprises of the agro-industrial complex and horticultural non-profit associations of the Leningrad Region, JSC “OEC” was awarded an Honorary Diploma of the Committee for Agriculture and Fisheries of the Leningrad Region.

OEC OJSC is a socially oriented company that implements projects to support children's sports, specialized children's social and educational institutions, and is a partner of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University , St. Petersburg State University of Economics.

OEC OJSC is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation , NP National Association of Organizations in the Field of Energy Saving and Improving Energy Efficiency .
