Sergei Fedorovich Dmitrenko (born November 17, 1953 , Dzaudzhikau ) is a Soviet and Russian historian of Russian literature and culture, a prose writer.

Biography
He served in the Air Force . He graduated (1981) with honors from a prose workshop (supervisors - V. E. Subbotin, then - V. P. Roslyakov ) and graduate school (1984) from the A. Gorky Literary Institute. Candidate of Philological Sciences (1986), Associate Professor (1992). In 1984-1998, he was a teacher, then an assistant professor at the Department of Russian Literature; since September 2014, an assistant professor at the Department of Contemporary Russian Literature of the Literary Institute .
In 1998-2000 he taught Russian literature at the universities of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Würzburg .
Since the fall of 1992, at first part-time (since 1997 in the state), he worked in the Literatura newspaper (from August 2011 - the magazine) of the First September Publishing House, from September 2006 to 2017 he was the chief editor of this newspaper, and then the magazine; currently - the chief editor of the journal "Literature". Member of the Union of Journalists of Moscow-Russia (since 1997).
Author of studies, articles on the history of Russian literature and problems of Russian prose. The author-compiler of the series "Poetic Class", as well as anthologies and books of Russian classics. The author of the idea and script of the television cycle "Writers of childhood" (TV channel "Culture"; 2007-2009; director Andrei Sudilovsky; aired under the arbitrary producer name "Writers of our childhood"). As a journalist, as well as publishing some of his other essays, he uses pseudonyms.
The VitaNova Publishing House (St. Petersburg) published The History of a City by M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin with an extensive (10 auth. L.) Set of comments on it prepared by S. Dmitrenko (2010). In 2012, a set of Saltykov-Shchedrin fairy tales with a modern accompanying apparatus prepared by Dmitrenko was also released here. In 2013, the first book of the anthology prepared by Dmitrenko, M., was published in the Russian Way series (St. Petersburg: Publishing House of the Russian Academy of Art; 1008 pp.) E. Family
Father - Fedor Nikitich Dmitrenko (1922–2015), watercolor painter, drawing teacher, methodologist; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor. The front-line soldier is a participant in the Great Patriotic War.
Mother - Natalya Nikolaevna Dmitrenko (nee Marchenko; 1926-2007), pharmacist; For about twenty years she was a teacher and head of the pharmaceutical department of the North Ossetian Medical School (now a college).
Brother - Alexander Dmitrenko (1959), artist, founder and practitioner of the Obkomov Realism style, jazz musician, teacher, lives with his family in the Kiev region of Ukraine.
