Viktor Ivanovich Mochulsky ( April 11, 1810 , St. Petersburg - June 5, 1871 , Moscow ) - Russian entomologist , officer and intelligence officer of the General Staff. He described many new species of insects, mainly the Russian fauna and, above all, ground beetles , considered a famous coleopterologist [1] .

Biography
Member of the Society of nature testers in Moscow. He published his research mostly in the publications of this society and the Petersburg Academy of Sciences .
The author of the classic reports on bugs and studies of agricultural pests. His collection of insects collected in Siberia , Egypt , and North and Central America constituted the funds of the Zoological Museum of Moscow University .
