Yongjon (bridge)

Yongjong Bridge (Yongjong-dёgyo) ( box 영종 대교 ) is a road and rail suspension bridge in the Republic of Korea , connects the island of the same name [1] with the city of Incheon . It is part of the Incheon International Airport Speedway .

The construction of the bridge was completed in December 1993 . Construction began in November 1995 , and was completed in December 2000 .

The total length of the bridge structure is 4,420 m, of which: 300 m is the main span of the suspension bridge (length 550 m), 1,620 m is the bridge with spans in the form of box-section beams and 2,250 m is the girder bridge with through trusses . Thus, at the moment it occupies 101 position in the ranking of the longest suspension bridges and the third among the longest suspension bridges in South Korea. It is also the longest suspension bridge in the world with a load-bearing cable fixed in an anchor span structure . The height of the bridge pylons is 107 m above sea level . The width of the bridge is 35 m, the roadway holds 8 lanes and 2 railway lines on the lower tier.
