Biography

Carlan began his career at Portuguesa Desportos , then he transferred to the Corinthians youth squad, for which he spent more than 40 games. In July 2008, he left his club and joined the League 1 club - Sochaux , signing a 4-year contract. During the seasons 2009/2010 and 2010/2011, he often replaced. He scored his first goal in League 1 on December 4, 2010 in a match against Valenciennes .

On June 19, 2014, after spending six seasons in France, Karlan signed a two-year contract with the APOEL club from Cyprus ^[1] , debuting on July 30, 2014 with the Finnish HIK club in the UEFA Champions League at Sonera stadium (draw 2: 2) ^[2] . Karlan played all six matches of the group stage for APOEL ^[3] , and thanks to his brilliant performance in the match against Barcelona at Camp Nou ^{[4], he} even got into the symbolic team of the 1st round of the Champions League group stage as the best central defender ^{[5 ]} . With the team that season, he won the championship and the Cyprus Cup ^[6] .
