History
Ijevan district was formed in 1930 .
On March 19, 1951, the territory of the abolished Dilijan district was handed over to the Ijevan district.
It was abolished in 1995 during the transition of Armenia to a new administrative-territorial division [1] , becoming part of the Tavush region .
Geography
As of January 1, 1948, the territory of the district was 870 km².
Administrative division
As of 1948, the district included 14 village councils : Achajur, Verin-Agdansky, Getashensky, Yenokavansky, Ijevan, Laliguhsky, Nerkin-Agdansky, Revazlinsky, Sevkarsky, Srigehsky, Taliysky, Uzuntalinsky, Hashtaraksky, Tsakhkavansky [2] .
