Edward Christopher Sheeran ( born Edward Christopher Sheeran ; born February 17, 1991) is a British pop musician and actor. The first commercial success came to him in June 2011 thanks to the single “The A Team”, which took third place in the British chart . All of his albums “ + ” (2011), “ x ” (2015), “ ÷ ” (2017) and “ No.6 Collaborations Project ” (2019) [1] took first places in the British chart, the last two also topped the American chart . Sheeran’s song “ Thinking Out Loud ” earned him two Grammy Awards in 2016. In January 2017, the single Shape of You took 1st place in sales in the US and the UK.

Biography and career
Ed Sheeran was born in Halifax , ( West Yorkshire ), later moved to Suffolk , his father is of Irish descent, and his mother is English . At an early age, he learned to play the guitar and began to compose songs while studying at Thomas Mills High School [2] . In 2005, he made the first recordings released on the mini album The Orange Room . Sheeran released two more mini-albums: Ed Sheeran (2006) and Want Some? (2007). He was a guitar technician for the Nizlopi band, and in April 2008 he performed with her opening act [2] . In the same year he moved to London, where he began to give concerts daily, starting from small venues.
In 2009, Sheeran played 312 concerts. According to him, he read an interview with James Morrison , in which he admitted that he gave 200 concerts in a year, and decided to exceed this number [3] . In the same year, he released the mini-album You Need E's and soon went on tour with Just Jack .
On August 8, 2006, Ed Sheeran created his YouTube channel, Ed Sheeran [4] .
In February 2010, Sheeran released a video for the song “You Need Me, I Don't Need You” via SB.TV on YouTube and released the next mini-album, “Loose Change”. In April, he went to Los Angeles, where he performed all over the city and attracted the attention of Jamie Foxx , who invited him to his radio show [5] .
In 2011, Ed Sheeran signed a contract with Asylum / Atlantic Records , and in September he released his debut studio album, entitled “+”, topping the British hit parade [6] . The first single from him “The A Team” debuted in third place in the UK. Also, in 2011, Sheeran made a video for the song Lego House with the participation of actor Rupert Grint . [7]
In 2012, Sheeran performed on stage with Nick Mason ( Pink Floyd ) and Mike Rutherford ( Genesis , Mike & the Mechanics ) at the close of the XXX Summer Olympics in London. A group of Sheeran (guitar), Rutherford (12-string guitar), Richard Jones (bass) and Nick Mason (drums) performed the song “Wish You Were Here” from the 1975 Pink Floyd album of the same name .
Sheeran co-wrote the song “Little Things”, released in 2012 as a single by the British boy band One Direction . At the end of 2012 he went on an international tour with Michael Rosenberg (Passenger) [8] .
Taylor Swift contacted Ed Sheeran after listening to his music during her Australian tour in March 2012. Ed and Taylor later recorded vocals for the single “ Everything Has Changed ”, released in October 2012 on Taylor Swift's fourth album, “ Red ”. Ed Sheeran played at 64 concerts as part of the Taylor Swift North American tour in support of the Red album, which lasted from March to September 2013.
On June 23, 2014, the official release of Ed Sheeran's “X” album took place. The X album was recorded in Los Angeles with producers Rick Rubin and Farrell Williams . Ed's longtime friend, Foy Vance, co-authored several songs. The debut track from the new album was Tenerife Sea, which was performed at a performance at Madison Square Garden in October 2013.
"Sing" - the title single from the album "X", was presented to the public on April 7, 2014. The first video of the “X” era was the video for the song “Sing,” which was announced on the Ed Sheeran Facebook page.
On July 2, 2014, Ed announced the release of his autobiography, Ed Sheeran: A Visual Journey, which was co-authored by artist Philippe Bout, known as the author of covers and booklets for Sheeran’s “+” and “X” albums. The idea for writing the book was submitted by his long-time acquaintance and girlfriend Sap, who also helped with editing the contents of the book and its title. The book is scheduled for release on October 9, 2014.
On August 4, 2014, the premiere of the video for the song “Don’t” took place.
On October 7, 2014, the premiere of a video featuring a Latin American dancer named Brittany Cherry for the song “ Thinking Out Loud ” took place. After 24 hours, the clip gained more than 2.5 million views, which became Shiran's personal record.
In January 2015, he starred in the 1st episode of the 22nd season of the popular British television show “Top Gear”.
Since September 2015, the singer took a break in his musical career and became a volunteer at a charity store in his hometown of Framlingham [9] .
January 12, 2017 on the page of Ed was announced the album "Divide", which was released on March 3 [10] . He dedicated this album to his acquaintance Sap, who did a lot for him and, as he put it, “Was close in difficult times.”
On January 21, 2018, Sheeran became engaged to former hockey player Cherry Seaborn. [11]
On July 12, 2019, the album “No.6 Collaborations Project” was released, which included collaborations with various artists: Khalid , Camila Cabello , Cardi B , Chance The Rapper , PnB Rock , Stormzy , YEBBA , Justin Bieber , Travis Scott , Eminem , 50 Cent , Young Thug , J Hus , Ella Mai , Paulo Londra , Dave, HER , Meek Mill , A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie , Skrillex , Chris Stapleton , Bruno Mars . A clip for the track Ed Sheeran and Travis Scott - Antisocial appeared on YouTube.
