Biography

Frederick is the only child of Prince Leopold III of Anhalt-Dessau , born in a marriage. Friedrich's mother is Louise Brandenburg of Sweden , daughter of Margrave Friedrich Heinrich of Brandenburg of Sweden . From his mother he inherited the Brandenburg estates of Stolzenberg, Wormsfeld and Tsantoch, which were transferred to Anhalt-Dessau . [one]

Since 1788, Frederick served as an officer in the Prussian army [2] and resigned from Prussia in early January 1794 with the rank of major general . [3] Friedrich, who never took part in the administration of the principality, died three years before the death of his father, so the eldest son of Friedrich Leopold IV Friedrich came to power in Anhalt Dessau.
