Sere-Pole-Zohab [1] ( pers. سرپل ذهاب ) is a border town in the west of Iran , in the province of Kermanshah. The administrative center of the shahrestan is Sarpol-e-Zahab .

Geography
The city is located in the west of Kermanshah, in the highlands of western Zagros , at an altitude of 548 meters above sea level [2] . Sere-Pole-Zohab is located approximately 110 kilometers west of Kermanshah , the provincial capital, and 510 kilometers south-west of Tehran , the country's capital. Most able-bodied people are employed in agriculture.

As of 2006, the population was 34,632 people [3] ; Kurds prevail in the national composition.
