History
On June 4, 1959, Pope John XXIII issued the Bull Indicae genti , which established the Diocese of Simla, separating it from the Archdiocese of Delhi and Simla (today - the Archdiocese of Delhi ).
On May 12, 1964, the Diocese of Simla was renamed the Diocese of Simla and Chandigarh.
