Diocese of Tezpur ( Latin: Dioecesis Tezpurensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its center in Tezpur , India . The Diocese of Tezpur is a member of the Metropolitanate of Guwahati . The cathedral of the diocese of Tezpur is the church of St. John Bosco .

History
On January 16, 1964, Pope Paul VI issued the bull Fidei catholicae , which established the Diocese of Tezpur, isolating it from the dioceses of Dibrugarh and Shillong .
On January 20, 1975, the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples issued a decree Quo facilius , which included part of the territory of Bhutan in the Diocese of Tezpur.
On March 30, 1992 and December 7, 2005, the Diocese of Tezpur transferred part of its territory for the construction of new dioceses of Guwahati and Itaganar .
