Diocese of Bellary ( Latin: Dioecesis Bellaryensis ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its center in the city of Bellary , India . The Diocese of Bellary is a member of the Metropolitanate of Bangalore . The cathedral of the diocese of Bellary is the church of St. Anthony of Padua .

History
On June 15, 1928, Pope Pius X issued the Venerabilis frater log , which he established the mission of Sui iuris Bellary to separate from the Diocese of Hyderabad (today - the Archdiocese of Hyderabad ) and the Archdiocese of Madras (today - the Archdiocese of Madras and Melapor ).
On March 10, 1949, Pope Pius XII issued the Bull Apostolica Sedes , which transformed the mission of sui iuris Bellary into a diocese.
On June 24, 2005, the Diocese of Bellary transferred part of its territory for the construction of the new diocese of Gulbarga .
