The Diocese of Ajmer ( lat. Dioecesis Aimerensis ) is the diocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its center in the city of Ajmer , India . The diocese of Ajmer is included in the metropolis of Agra . The cathedral of the diocese of Ajmer is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary .

History
In July 1890, the Holy See established the sui iuris mission of Rajputana, isolating it from the archdiocese of Agra.
In March 1892, the sui iuris mission of Rajputana was transformed into an apostolic vicariate. On May 22, 1913, Pope Pius X issued the Mandatum Illud , which transformed the Apostolic Vicariate of Rajputan into the Ajmer Diocese.
On March 11, 1935, the diocese of Ajmer transferred part of its territory in favor of building the Apostolic Prefecture of Indore (today the Diocese of Indore ).
On May 13, 1955, the diocese of Ajpur was renamed the diocese of Ajmer and Jaipur.
On September 13, 1963, the diocese of Ajmer and Jaipur transferred part of its territory in favor of the construction of the archdiocese of Bhopal .
In 1981, the Mandsaur district , which previously belonged to the Indore diocese, entered the eparchy.
On December 3, 1984, the diocese of Ajmer and Jaipur transferred part of the territory in favor of building a new diocese of Udaipur .
On July 20, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI released the Evangelicum stadium bull , which divided the Diocese of Ajmer and Jaipur into two dioceses: the Diocese of Jaipur and the actual diocese of Ajmer.
