Vayk district is an administrative-territorial unit within the Armenian SSR and Armenia , which existed in 1931-1995 (the name until 1990 was the Azizbekov district ). Center - Vayk (name from 1966 to 1990 [1] - Azizbekov).

History
Azizbekov district was established in 1931 . In the period 1951-1956 was part of the Mikoyanovsky district .
In 1990, the Azizbekov district was renamed Vayk district . It was abolished in 1995 during the transition of Armenia to a new administrative-territorial division [2] .
Geography
As of January 1, 1948, the area of the district was 1200 km².
Administrative Division
As of 1948, the district included 17 village councils : Azatek, Azizbekovsky, Bartsuninsky, Gergersky, Gndevazsky, Gomursky, Goradissky, Dzhulsky, Zeytinsky, Ziraksky, Karmrashensky, Kechutsky, Kochbeksky, Martirosky, Sersky, Terpsky, 3 Khnd.
