Atanasia Tsanu ( German: Athanasia Tzanou , June 25, 1971 , Athens ) is a German composer of Greek origin.

Biography
She graduated from the National Conservatory in Athens in composition and piano ( 1993 ). She studied with Franco Donatoni at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan ( 1993 - 1998 ). She attended master classes by Brian Fernihou ( 1997 , 1999 ), Karlheinz Stockhausen ( 1998 ), Toshio Hosokawa (1999). In 1999-2000 she took a course in composition and musical informatics at IRCAM .

Recognition
Tsanu's works are performed in Europe, USA, Latin America, among the performers are Janos Nedeshi , Lena Noydauer . The Mozart Prize from the Salzburg Mozarteum (2001), the Brahms Prize of the city of Hamburg (2001), the incentive prize Ernst von Siemens ( 2006 ).
