Biography
The son of Grigory Grigoryevich Gogel . Father of Ivan Ivanovich Gogel .
Educated in the land cadet corps and served in artillery (the bombardier battalion of the rowing Black Sea Fleet , the Akhtiar artillery companies, the 6th artillery regiment, the 12th artillery battalion, the 8th and 1st artillery regiments, respectively [1] .
October 20, 1806 was appointed director of the Page Corps and was until March 20, 1830.
In 1805, with the rank of colonel, he participated in the campaign of the landing corps of Count Tolstoy .
1807 - Chief Presenter of the Garrison Artillery Review Committee ; 1808 - in the scientific committee on artillery; in 1810 - vice director of the artillery department of the Ministry of War; also in 1824 - inspector of the Sestroretsk arms factory .
Since 1811 - a member of the artillery expedition, took part in the commission on the compilation of military manuals; then in 1812-1826 - vice director of the artillery department of the Ministry of War. Chairman, and then Director of the Military Scientific Committee.
In the war of 1812, he formed the Russian-German legion and was a member of the committee on the management of "German affairs."
In 1819 - Director of the Military Scientific Committee .

- He was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree (No. 3628; February 13, 1823 ).
