Mehdiyeh ( Persian مهديه ) is a small town in the south-west of Iran , in the provinces of Chekharmehal and Bakhtiaria . It is part of the Shahrestan Shahre Kord and is a suburb of its center of the same name. As of 2006, the population was 6,232 people [1] .

Geography
The city is located in the north-eastern part of Chekharmarhal and Bakhtiaria, in the highlands of central Zagros , at an altitude of 2,073 meters above sea level [2] . Mehdiye is located a few kilometers northwest of Shehre Kord , the provincial capital, and 365 kilometers south of Tehran , the country's capital.
