Radio Disney is founded like a regular radio station, with its free distribution of prizes (listeners can call the studio or send a text message ) and random calls to the studio during an interview on the show "Coups", which usually occur at the end of the day. In Russia, official online broadcasting began on October 1, 2013 on the Disney website. [one]

History

1996-2001: Home

The first Radio Disney logo used from November 18, 1996 to 2001.

Radio Disney began broadcasting on November 18, 1996 at 5:58 a.m. Eastern Standard Time with the song " Get Ready For This ." Their slogan was “We are all listening!” ( Eng. “We're all ears!”). Radio Disney began with songs that were on the Top 40 charts at local stations, popular old ones and songs from various cartoons and movies. These included Britney Spears , Christina Aguilera , 'N Sync , Spice Girls , A-Teens , Backstreet Boys , Hanson and others.

In 2000, artists such as Aaron Carter and Dream Street became popular. Their new short slogan has been replaced by “music and prizes by the cliff!”. Later, in 2000, Radio Dinsey increased the age limit from 12 to 14 so that prizes and sweepstakes could be won. The Disney Radio World Tour also debuted in 2000.

2001-2007: Disney Channel Stars

Near the end of 2001, Radio Disney was closely associated with singers / actors of the original Disney Channel shows, beginning with Hilary Duff and Raven-Symone , and later with Miley Cyrus , the Jonas Brothers , Demi Lovato , Selena Gomez , Mitchell Musso and others. Their current slogan, “Your music, your way,” also appeared.

In 2002, Radio Disney presented music awards for the first time. This prize is awarded now.

In 2004, The Walt Disney Company paid the former Children's Broadcasting Corporation $ 12.4 million. The Walt Disney Company, before launching its radio, collaborated for some time with Aahs Radio .

In 2006, the radio celebrated its 10th birthday, from the day it went on air. The broadcast of the first hour of broadcasting on air was repeated on June 6, 2006 at about 16:58 Eastern time at WQEW station. Also, as part of the 10th anniversary, a Totally 10 Birthday Concert was held on July 22, 2006 at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim , California . [2] This concert was simultaneously broadcast on the official Disney Radio website. A second concert was held November 18, 2006 in Dallas , Texas , at the Dallas Convention Center . [3]

In February 2006, The Walt Disney Company announced that in the future Radio Disney and other radio stations would merge into the Citadel Broadcasting radio holding. Disney Radio will be part of the Cable Networks Group. This team serves Disney cable holdings, with the exception of ESPN .

2007 - Now: Various Changes

In April 2007, Radio Disney completely lost the word “Listen” (from their first slogan “We are all listening!”) From their (old) phone number, mail, and daily Playhouse Disney programs. The phone number was originally pronounced 1-8-8-8, EARS, 0-1-8; while all DJs read it as 1-888-327-7018. Now the telephone exchange number is 1877-870-5678.

Since 2008, Radio Disney has had many different songs from the original Disney Channel shows, like well-produced music from other youth music bands, some of which are associated with Walt Disney Records , Buena Vista Records or Hollywood Records . Disney Playhouse programs were reduced by an hour. (initially the block went 2 hours).

In November 2008, Radio Disney relocated its headquarters from Dallas, Texas, to Burbank, California. At the end of May 2009, Radio Disney is completely changing its phone number. Their current phone number is 1-877-870-5678.

In June 2009, Radio Disney again increased the maximum return for winners. Now this age is 16 years old.

In January 2010, Radio Disney requests permission from the FCC to suspend its five broadcasting stations (and the sixth station belongs to another company) until the radio stations are sold. [4] Only two stations were given permission to sell.

Programs

Music

Radio Disney plays a wide variety of songs from stars and from shows on Disney Channel, along with popular songs from other radio stations. They also compose their TOP-40 consisting of various songs.

Serial Radio

In July 2010, Radio Disney aired the first consecutive script for My Dreams, contemporary stories in a format reminiscent of the 1940s. Unlike the old radio, the duration of one episode is 90 seconds and the music time, rather than 30 minutes. [5] The star of the show “My Dreams” is Daphne Blunt , a girl who 14 years ago made her name for the music industry. Every day she raises and lowers the mood of youth. [6]

Playhouse Disney

Playhouse Disney (originally Mickey and Minnie Melody Time between 1998-2001) aired on Radio Disney on weekdays during the school year at 12:00 ET and ends at 1:00 ET. Playhouse Disney was once a two-hour block, but recently time has been reduced by an hour, along with the Circle Time Story, (originally Mickey and Minnie Historical Theater between 1998-2001) which told stories from Disney Channel films and movies. Like Disney's Playhouse on Disney Channel, it targets preschoolers. Classical Radio Disney songs are also played during the Disney Playhouse.

Disney Radio World Tour

In 2000 and 2001, Radio Disney launched two separate “world tours” that traveled to major venues throughout the United States. In 2000, young talents ( No Authority , Myra ) and DJs of Radio Disney Mark and Zippy went on tour. The tour was held in the following cities: Atlanta, New York, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. They played at the theater venues and gathered an audience of up to 2,000 people on the show (there were 4 shows for each weekend on each of the venues).

Radio Disney Junior

On February 9, 2011, Radio Disney announced that it would start producing children's blocks for babies (2 to 7) and their parents. The music block will be held from 12: 00-1: 00 PM EST. The broadcast will begin on February 14, 2011 to coincide with the Disney Junior broadcast start date. [7]

Accessibility

Online Broadcast

Radio Disney streaming is available on RadioDisney.com and is also available under Pop / Top 40 in the iTunes radio tuner section. Radio Disney is also available as a special feature on the Hannah Montana: Cinema via Disney BD-Live Blu-ray release, as well as PSP games, Hannah Montana: Rock Out Show . From 1997 to 1999, the RealAudio digital streaming network is available on the Radio Disney website. The service ceased to exist in 1999, only with renewed vigor, after some time as a pre-installed streaming channel on QuickTime 4 streaming media list. The service disappeared around 2000 when Quicktime5 was implemented. In March 2006, the stream was resumed again in a Windows Media Player format like Radio Disney 2.0.

Radio and TV Subscription

Radio Disney is available on XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio in digital audio format in both the United States and Canada, and on channel 115. It was previously available on the Music Choice on most digital cable television systems. However, on September 18, 2007, Music Choice replaced Radio Disney with its own Kidz Only! ". It is very similar to Radio Disney, but it has more music. [9] [10] Disney Radio is also available via satellite on the XM (channel 867), and is currently being launched via Sirius on the Dish Network (channel 6115). Radio Disney could previously be heard on the 867 DirecTV channel, but as of February 9, 2010, DirecTV changed its music programs from XM Radio to Sonic Tap. Several digital cable radio service providers are offering Radio Disney.

Stations

Despite the fact that the Radio Disney network primarily uses AM stations, it still has several FM stations. Below is the exact list as of January 2010. Despite their current status, many of these stations have different histories. Many of Radio Disney's current callsigns are variations on Disney names, exactly Mickey and Minnie Mouse . At least one station is named after Goofy . Another is named after Walt Disney World (WDW). The HD Radio broadcast area is possible with an 8-second delay in the AM zone, which makes these stations lag behind other Radio Disney AM stations. The winner of the competition before or during the competition will be announced details. (In order to keep the analog / digital signal in sync, this is standard practice for Hybrid Digital Radio to stop broadcasting for a few seconds).
