The 2007 Pan American Games is a multisports competition held July 13–29, 2007 in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro . These were the second Pan American Games held in Brazil after the competition in Sao Paulo in 1963. 5633 athletes took part in the games. They competed in 332 disciplines in 35 sports.

The stadium where the opening and closing ceremonies were held both in 2007 and 2016 was the famous “Maracana”.

During the competition, 1292 doping tests were taken from athletes. Initially, it was announced at the closing ceremony of the games that the XV Pan-American Games were the “cleanest” games in history and not one of the samples taken had a positive result. However, on December 18, 2007, it was announced that four athletes were losing their medals, since illegal samples were found in their samples.

one.   Rebeca Guzman is a Brazilian swimmer. She was deprived of 4 medals in swimming due to increased levels of testosterone . The athlete lost two gold medals in swimming at 50 and 100 meters freestyle, silver medal in the relay 4x100 meters freestyle and bronze in the combined relay 4x100 meters.

2.   Fabrizio Mafra is a Brazilian weightlifter. He was deprived of a bronze medal in weightlifting in the category of up to 105 kg due to the increased level of testosterone .

3.   Libardo Nino Corridor is a Colombian cyclist. He was deprived of a silver medal in a group cycling race due to the presence of erythropoietin in the blood.

four.   Pedro Rojas is a Nicaraguan baseball player. He was deprived of a personal bronze medal in baseball due to the presence of Boldenon in his blood. However, Nicaragua retained its third place and was not disqualified.
