Build

Laid on December 5, 1828 on the slipway of the New Admiralty in St. Petersburg . The construction was led by shipbuilder Alexander A. Popov . Launched on October 12, 1829.

Service

In 1830-1832, 1834, 1836-1839, as a part of squadrons, he carried out practical voyages in the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland .

In 1835, as part of the squadron of Vice Admiral P.I. Rikord , he delivered the Guards Corps from Kronstadt to Danzig and vice versa.

July 3, 1836 at the Kronstadt raid took part in the ceremony of meeting the Baltic Fleet boat Peter the Great . In the years 1846-1848 he went through timber processing .

In 1848-1850 he participated in the expedition of the Baltic Fleet to the shores of Denmark . From July 28 to August 30, 1849, as part of the 2nd division of Rear Admiral Balk, he cruised around the island of Gotland . In 1850, as part of the same division, he again cruised near Gotland , and then in the area of ​​the Isle of Man .

In 1851 and 1853, as part of the squadrons, he was in practical voyages in the Gulf of Finland.

Since 1853, he participated in the Crimean War , transporting troops across the Baltic Sea.

The battleship Poltava was excluded from the list of ships of the Imperial Navy on March 21, 1860.
