Acanthopsylla scintilla (lat.) Is a flea species from the family Pygiopsyllidae . Endemic to Australia, described by the English entomologist Miriam Louise Rothschild [1] .

Description

They are found in the southwest of Western Australia , in New South Wales , Victoria , South Australia and Tasmania [2] . The length of the males is about 2 mm, the females are 2.5–3.2 mm. [1] Ectoparasites of mammals, mainly marsupials . The host list includes Cercartetus concinnus (Gould, 1845) ( Burramyidae ), Cercartetus lepidus (Thomas, 1888) ( Burramyidae ), Cercartetus nanus (Desmarest, 1818) ( Burramyidae ), Dasyurus viverrinus (Shaw, 1800) ( Dasyuridae ), Resus f Waterhouse, 1839) ( Muridae ) [3] .
