Geography and climate
Located on the banks of the Ghagkhra River , 128 km east of Lucknow , 165 km north of Allahabad and 200 km north-west of Varanasi . The average height of the city above sea level is 96 m [1] .
The hottest months are from April to June, when average maximums range from 36 to 42 ° C. The coolest months are December and January, when average lows range from 6 to 7 ° C. The rainy season lasts from July to September. The average annual rainfall is about 880 mm.
