The station is located in the suburbs of Lyon , the municipality of Villerban . The station platform is located under Emile Zola Avenue ( fr. Cours Émile Zola ) in the area of its intersection with the streets on August 4, 1789 ( fr. Rue du 4 ao89t 1789 ) and Pierre Baraten ( fr. Rue Pierre Baratin ). The entrance to the station is made from Emile Zola Avenue and Pierre Baraten Street [1] [2] .

The station was opened on May 2, 1978 as part of the first stage of the Lyon metro from Perrach station to Laurent Bonve station - Astrobal . Consists of two ways and two side platforms. Passenger traffic in 2006 was 157,099 people / month [1] .
Origin of title
The station is named after the historic quarter of Villerban, in which it is located [2] .
