Opened on December 31, 1976 as part of the Deak Ferenc ter - Nagyvarad ter section.
The station is located under the intersection of two key highways of Pest : the leading in the southeast direction is Illioi Avenue (Üllői út, the longest street of Budapest, along this line goes the M3 line) and a large semi-ring of boulevards (Nagykörút) from the Petefi bridge to Margit bridge . Ferenc Boulevard (Ferenc körút) here goes to Joseph's Boulevard (József körút). The Corvin Negyed station is a transport hub, the transfer is carried out here to the loaded tram routes 4 and 6, following the large semi-ring boulevards.
From 1976 to June 2011, it was called Ferenc Korut; in 2011, it was renamed Corvin Nedead [1]
