Biography

Born in Chisinau. The maiden name of the artist’s mother is Kaplan [1] .

In 1970, Reuben (Ruva) Bronstein graduated from the Moscow State School of Circus and Variety Arts (variety department) [2] .

In the 1970s and 1980s, he worked at the Leningrad State Concert Association " Lenkontsert " as an artist of the colloquial genre.

The artist was the first stage partner of Ilya Klyaver , who later took the pseudonym Oleinikov , the duo often staged pop numbers together with Vladimir Vinokur . After the performance of the Klyaver-Bronstein duo was cut out from the television version of the All-Union Pop Art Competition, on the advice of Vladimir Vinokur, Reuben Bronstein took the stage name Roman Kazakov , and Ilya Klyaver took the pseudonym Oleinikov [1] .

In 1977, Roman Kazakov , together with his stage partner Ilya Oleinikov, became the laureate of the All-Union Pop Art Competition. Roman Kazakov has repeatedly participated in the broadcast of the Central Television Around the Laughter . The most famous pop act of the duet “Cossacks and Oleinikov”, remembered by Soviet television viewers with the phrase “Well, the question is, of course, interesting,” brought the artists all-Union fame.

The collaboration of the Kazakov-Oleinikov duet with Vladimir Vinokur continued in the pop-parody program “Is there an extra ticket?” In which, for example, Vinokur, Oleinikov and Kazakov made the program “Smoke Screen”, in which stage smoke spread out ; songs of VIA “ Earthlings ” (“ Grass at Home ”), “ Stas Namin Group ” (“ We wish you happiness ”), Alla Pugacheva (“ Iceberg ”) and Valery Leontyev (“Eclipse of the Heart”) were used.

The artist died in 1986 (in Leningrad ) from lung cancer in the prime of his creative life. Alexander Rosenbaum , a former close friend of the artist, wrote a song “Dedication to Roman Kazakov” in his memory (included in the disc “ Dark Concert ”, 1988 and the record “ My Yards ”, 1987 ) [3] .

He was buried in Leningrad.
