Policy
Residents of the canton generally adhered to leftist views. In the 2012 presidential election, they cast 28.7% of the vote in the 1st round to Francois Hollande versus 27.1% for Nicolas Sarkozy and 16.5% for Marine Le Pen , in the 2nd round, Hollande won, receiving 51 , 9% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 31.7%, Segolen Royal - 26.8%; 2nd round: Sarkozy - 52.3%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 11th constituency of the Department of Nor , the canton residents supported the incumbent deputy, mayor delegate of the commune of Lomm , socialist candidate Yves Duran , who won 39.0% of the vote in the 1st round and 55.1% - in the 2nd round.
