Biography
Rudolf Dvořák came from a teacher's family. After graduating from high school in Ceske Budejovice , in 1879 he entered Prague Charles University , where he studied classical and eastern philology. After completing the course in 1884, he received a scholarship for a trip to Leipzig . Here he showed himself to be an outstanding orientalist, but he was also interested in assyrology , Arabic and other Semitic languages , Egyptology , Iranianism and Sinology .
A year later, he ended up in Munich , where he continued, in particular, studying the ancient Egyptian language , and also for one semester was an assistant to the indologist and Iranian E. Trump . Then he returned to Charles University and defended his doctoral dissertation, and in 1890 became an extraordinary professor. Since 1896 - an ordinary professor.
