IEEE 802.1Qay

PBB-TE ( BBC Provider Backbone Bridge Traffic Engineering - provider backbones with the ability to optimize and manage traffic ) is a packet data transfer technology adopted as IEEE 802.1Qay-2009 standard. [1] PBB-TE adapts Ethernet technology for use in transport networks of providers . The standard is based on Q-in-Q technologies ( IEEE 802.1ad standard) and MAC-in-MAC technologies ( IEEE 802.1ah standard), but unlike them, the functionality of broadcast requests, dynamic switching tables, and no covering protocols are removed from PBB-TE tree . In PBB-TE networks, OA&M ( Operations, administration and management ) are typically based on the IEEE 802.1ag standard .
