Qualification of participants

The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of each country had the right to apply for participation in the competition of no more than three athletes who fulfilled the standard A (13: 21.50) in the qualification period from January 1, 2007 to July 23, 2008 . Also, the NOC could declare no more than one athlete from among those who fulfilled the standard B (13: 28.00) in the same period. Qualification standards were established by the IAAF . [one]
