Biography
Joseph August Schenck was born in 1815 [3] in the city of Hallayn .
He studied natural sciences and medicine in Munich, Erlangen , Vienna and Berlin .
Schenk taught botany in Munich and Würzburg , where in 1845 he was a professor of botany.
In 1868, Schenk worked at the University of Leipzig , where, among other things, he directed the botanical garden .
Joseph August Schenck died in 1891 [3] in Munich .

Joseph August Schenk specialized in seed plants , as well as fossils and mycology [3] .
