Member of the Great Patriotic War , chief researcher at the Institute of Russian Literature of the RAS . Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation ( 1993 , posthumous).

Biography

Born in the family of a railroad worker, one of five children. His father, Alexander Andreyevich Dmitriev, graduated from the School of Music and Drama and was an actor in the Korsch Theater , but after the revolution he acquired the profession of a railway engineer.

In 1933 the family moved to Leningrad . In 1939, L. A. Dmitriev entered the philological faculty of Leningrad University , but in November he was drafted into the army . During the Finnish winter campaign of 1939-1940 he served on the Karelian Isthmus in the 115th anti-aircraft artillery regiment. In 1941-1945, he served as the duty sergeant for communications in the Air Defense Administration of the Leningrad Military District .

Having retired in October 1945, he was reinstated at the university, which he graduated in 1950. In 1953 he graduated from the graduate school at the Pushkin House (the topic of his dissertation is “The Legend of the Mamaev Massacre ” ) and in the same year was appointed a junior researcher in the sector of ancient Russian literature. In 1974 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the theme "Legendary-biographical narratives of ancient Novgorod . "

He traveled many times to archaeographic expeditions, his efforts to a large extent created the Karelian collection of manuscripts of the Treasury of the Pushkin House.

He was married to the philologist and researcher of Russian medieval book writing Rufina Dmitrieva . Grandson - composer and pianist Nikolai Mazhara .

Rewards

He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree and medals: “ For Military Merit ”, “ For the Defense of Leningrad ”, “ For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. ".
