Asemanabad ( Persian اسمان اباد ) is a small city in the west of Iran , in the province of Ilam . It is part of the Shirvan and Shirvan . As of 2006, the population was 5,899 people [1] .

Geography
The city is located in the north of Ilam, in the highlands of western Zagros , at an altitude of 1231 meters above sea level [2] . Asemanabad is located approximately 25 kilometers north of Ilam , the provincial capital, and 480 kilometers southwest of Tehran , the country's capital.
