SOAPnet is an American cable television channel that broadcasts repetitions of daytime soap operas and prime time drum, as well as some original programs. The channel was launched on January 20, 2000 and is owned by Disney-ABC Television Group , a division of The Walt Disney Company .

In 2010, it was announced that the channel would be closed in 2012 and replaced by Disney Junior , [1] [2] , but in July 2011 it was announced that the closure was postponed indefinitely [3] .
