Cretan Institute for Technological Education ( Greek Τεχνολογικό Εκπαιδευτικό Ίδρυμα Κρήτης ) is an institution providing higher technological education to Greek students. It was founded in 1983 and includes the following schools:
- School of Applied Technology;
- School of Health and Welfare;
- School of Management and Economics;
- School of Agricultural Technology.

The institute also includes departments of general sciences, foreign languages and physical education. KITO students attend courses for 4 years, including lectures and practical work in laboratories. In addition, they write a dissertation before graduating.
The instruction in KITO includes training in technological subjects the purpose of which is to educate students in qualified, responsible and competent members of society. With a permanent teaching staff of 200 people and approximately 10,000 students, KITO Heraklion is a thriving academic community with an extensive library, student dormitories, sports facilities and a polyclinic.

The language of education in the ITO of Crete is Greek. Additionally, there are several courses in English.
