History
The Assumption Church was built in the late 1850s. The architecture was borrowed from the album of the architect Konstantin Ton , “Highly approved” for “building Orthodox churches”. Drawings of the church were made in the Department of Projects and Estimates in St. Petersburg and "highly approved for construction" on November 28, 1857. In 1863 [1] the church was built and consecrated . The temple was built by the Bobrovsky merchant Alexei Iosifovich Medvedev at his own expense. It was rebuilt in 1890-1900.
For a long time, the Assumption Church is the only surviving city church of Bobrov and the region. After the collapse of the USSR , the restoration of religious buildings began. Since 1983, the church has been armed as a monument of history and architecture. [2]
