Man of the Year (film)

Tom Dobbs, a popular host of satirical television shows on topical political topics, at the suggestion of one of the spectators, is running for president of the United States. Thanks to popular recognition, he is on the list of three final presidential candidates. His team from the television show supports him and helps to organize an election campaign, as a result of which Dobbs’s popularity as a candidate is growing sharply. The election day is coming. Americans vote using the Delacrae electronic system. Producer and friend of Dobbs Jack Menken gets to the hospital, and there Dobbs, who came to visit him, on TV finds out that he won. Sensation! The entertainer is the president. The victory of Dobbs is not a surprise; people love their comic and trust him. But the victory turned out to be just as random as his whole idea with the elections. A Delacroy employee who tested the system discovers that there is an error in the vote counting program. The calculations are wrong! Another candidate was to become the man of the year! The girl is horrified. The company prefers to hide the mistake in order to avoid scandal, and the girl is urged to be silent. But she, realizing that the people are deceived, decides to tell everything to the newly made president ...
