Chernysh ( Ukrainian: Chernish ) is a village of the Chernihiv region of the Chernihiv region of Ukraine , the center of the village council. It is located 20 km from the district center and the Chernigov railway junction . The population of 529 people [2] .

Content
History
Chernysh was founded at the beginning of the XVIII century. Soviet power was established in January 1918. At the fronts of World War II , 625 villagers fought, 270 of them were awarded orders and medals, 160 - they died the death of the brave. A monument was erected in the village in honor of the liberating soldiers and fellow villagers who died in battles against the Nazis.
For the courage and heroism shown during the rescue of the bridge across the Dnieper in the city of Orsha , a native of the village, the miner of the 381st separate combat engineer battalion of the 220th rifle division, Private A. S. Yurchenko was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union . In 1969, A. S. Yurchenko was elected an honorary citizen of the city of Orsha.
