Leonor Varela Palma ( Spanish: Leonor Varela Palma ; born December 29, 1972 ) - Chilean film actress. The Russian audience is best known for the films “Cleopatra” (1999), “ Blade 2 ” ( 2002 ) and “ Not So Seriously ” ( 2003 ).

Biography
The early years
Leonor Varela was born in Santiago , Chile , in the family of the famous Chilean neuroscientist and philosopher Francisco Varela and the Franco-Hungarian dancer Leonor Palma . In addition to Leonor, the family had three more children.
After Pinochet came to power, the family emigrated to Costa Rica , where Leonor spent the first 7 years of her life. From Costa Rica, Varela was allowed to return to Chile, but soon Francisco got a job in Germany . After several years in Germany, the family again moved to Chile, but again not for long. In 1986, they again returned to Europe, settling in France, where Varela was engaged in research at the Polytechnic School and taught neuroscience at the University of Paris . Since that time, Leonor has always lived in Paris. In the early 1990s, Leonor entered the Paris Conservatory.
Career
Her first work was the children's television movie Pony Track, which was shot in Iceland and was released in 1995 . After that, she starred a lot in various television films and European films. In Hollywood, her career began with a small role in the film "The Man in the Iron Mask " in 1998 .
In 1999, she played a major role in the high-budget television movie Cleopatra , having passed the selection among 35 other applicants. Her partners on the set were Timothy Dalton ( Caesar ) and Billy Zane ( Mark Anthony ), with whom she began an affair that lasted about two years.
In the 2000s, she continued to act in films. In 2002, she starred in the movie " Blade 2 ". In 2005, she was nominated for the Ariel Film Award of the Mexican Film Academy for the film Innocent Voices . In 2012, she played Marta Del Sol in the Dallas television series.
She appeared several times in various men's magazines, mainly “ Maxim ”, which in 2002 put her in 11th place on the list of the 100 sexiest women of the year [2] .
Personal life
Since 2011, Leonor has been in fact married to producer Lucas Akoskin (born April 25, 1979). The couple has two children - the son of Matteo Varela Akoskin (born November 20, 2012) [3] and daughter Luna May Akoskin (born February 25, 2015) [4] .
Convinced vegetarian from 12 years old. He is an activist of the Whale Protection Society. Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Italian.
