Sudbury is an administrative district in the province of Ontario , Canada . The largest city and administrative center of the district is the city of Espanyol . Population - 33,283 people. (according to the 2006 census) [1] .

Content
Geography
The county is located in the central part of the province of Ontario, in the region of Northern Ontario . In the west and north-west it borders with Algoma district, in the north-east with Cochran district, in the east with Timisming and Nipissing districts, in the south-east with Parry Sound district. In the south, the coast of the district is washed by the waters of the Gulf of Georgian Bay (Lake Huron ), and on the water of Sudbury it borders the Manitulin District, located on the island of the same name .

Big Sudbury
A special position is the city of Sudbury. The city, together with the adjoining outlying municipalities, is a separate district of Greater Sudbury , established in 2001 and located within the territory of Sudbury County. Until 2001, the city was part of Sudbury County as a municipality .
Administrative division
The county includes:
- 5 Cities (Towns): Espanyol , French River , Killarney , Markstey-Warren and St. Charles ;
- 4 Township: Baldwin , Shaplo , Nairn-i-Heyman and Sables-Spanish Rivers ;
- 1 inter-settlement territory - North Sudbury (includes 92% of the district);
- 7 Indian territories: Shaple 74A , Shaplo 75 , Duck Lake 76B , Mattagami 71 , Mountbatten 76A , Whitefish Lake 6 and Whitefish River .
Population
Of the approximately 21.4 thousand inhabitants of the district, 10,760 are men and 10,630 are women. The average age of the population is 45.0 years (against 39.0 years on average in the province ). At the same time, the average age of men is 45.0 years, and women - 44.9 (similar figures for Ontario - 38.1 and 39.9, respectively) [1] .
8,855 private dwellings belonging to 6,640 families are registered in the district [1] .
Two thirds of the population speaks English , another 30% speak French . Both French and English (both together) are understood by a little over a third of the residents of the district [1] .
The largest city is Espanola (it is also the administrative center of the district) - 5314 people. (about a quarter of the population of the district, according to the 2006 census) [2] .
