Biography
Dorothea Wilhelmina is the daughter of the Duke Moritz Wilhelm of Saxe-Zeitz and his wife Maria Amalia Brandenburg-Sweden , the daughter of Elector Brandenburg Frederick Wilhelm . By 1710, all her brothers and sisters had died, and Dorothea Wilhelmina thereby became, after the death of her father in 1718, the last representative of the Saxe-Zeitz house.
On September 27, 1717, Dorothea Wilhelmina married Zeiss in Land Zeiss, Hesse-Kassel Wilhelm VIII . The Queen of Great Britain, Carolina, told Liselotta of Pfalz that the landgrain is "ugly and has a strange head . "
Dorothea Wilhelmina suffered from mental illness and after 1725 did not appear in public. The first lady at the court was the favorite of the landgraf, Cristina von Berngold, who was raised as a countess during the life of the landgrafi.
