Title History

From the second half of the 18th century, the street was designated as the 4th Company of the Semenov Regiment . In parallel, there were names the 4th line , the 4th line of the Moscow part , the 4th company of the Life Guards of the Semenovsky regiment , Peshchurov pereulok (by the name of the homeowner) [1] .

On December 9, 1857, the street was given the modern name Mozhaiskaya Street , along the city of Mozhaisk , along with other streets of the Moscow police unit , named after the district towns of the Moscow province [1] .

History

The street appeared in the second half of the XVIII century , as one of the streets reserved for the location of the 4th company of the Semenovsky regiment . Initially, only the soldiers’ barracks and houses of junior officer ranks were allowed on the street. But since they did not occupy all the allotted land, then gradually the street began to be built up by philistine houses [1] .
