Tricipitin was descended from the patrician clan Lucretius. His degree of relationship with the consul-effect Spurius Lucretius Tricipitin is unknown .
Tricipitin was appointed consul in 508 BC. er with Publish Valery Pubicola [2] . In his consulate he fought with the Etruscans, who attacked Rome under the leadership of their king Lars Porsenna [3] . However, Dionysius of Halicarnassus places Porsenna's invasion next year, and Tricipitina calls the military leader of the Roman army under the consuls [4] .
In 504 BC. er Tricipitin was appointed second time by the consul with Publiy Valery Publikola Then he fought with the Sabines and won the triumph [5] .
