Biography
Shams al-mulk , who died in 1080, was succeeded by his brother Khizr, from whom a few coins came. Khizr belonged to Maverannahr , including Ferghana. The capital of the state was Samarkand.
The beginning of the reign of Khizr was marked by a new, very unsuccessful Seljukid invasion, while the further relations of Khizr with its southern neighbors were peaceful.
According to V.V. Bartold , the state under the rule of Khizr Khan was in a flourishing state. Hyzr Khan patronized poets. Nizami Aruzi Samarkandi believed that during the reign of Khizr Khan, the Karakhanid court was distinguished by its beauty and brilliance [1] .
Khizr issued coins with the title Al-Khakan Al-Muazzam Sultan.
Khizr Khan died in 1087 and was succeeded by his son Ahmed Khan b. Hezr .
