Podgayev, Grigory Efimovich

Grigory Efimovich Podgayev (1920 - May 25, 1990, Khabarovsk ) - Soviet party and statesman. Over the years, he held the posts of first secretary of the Jewish Regional Committee of the CPSU (1962-1970), chairman of the Jewish Regional Executive Committee (1961-1962) and the Khabarovsk Regional Executive Committee (1970-1981), as well as the posts of first secretaries of several city party committees.

Biography

Born in 1920 . In 1940 he graduated from the Tomsk Industrial Institute as an external student, from 1940-1942 he was a technologist at the Ural Car-Building Plant , shift foreman at Novokramatorsky plant, foreman, shift supervisor.

Member of the Great Patriotic War ; from 1942 to 1945 he served in the ranks of the Red Army . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1942. [one]

Since 1945 - instructor of the Khabarovsk Regional Committee of the CPSU (b). Then - the 1st Secretary of the Industrial District Committee of the CPSU (b), the 1st Secretary of the Vyazemsky District Committee of the CPSU. Since 1958 - Head of the Department of the Khabarovsk Regional Committee of the CPSU. Until March 1961 - 1st Secretary of the Khabarovsk City Committee of the CPSU. In the same year he graduated from the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU .

In 1961-1962 - Chairman of the Jewish Regional Executive Committee. In 1962-1970 - the first secretary of the Jewish Regional Committee of the CPSU. In 1970-1981 - First Secretary of the Khabarovsk Regional Committee of the CPSU.

Since December 30, 1983 - Chairman of the Khabarovsk Regional Committee of War Veterans.

Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 7-10 convocations .

He died in Khabarovsk on May 25, 1990.

Memory

On April 27, 2000, in Khabarovsk, on the building of the Legislative Duma of the region , a memorial plaque was opened in honor of Grigory Podgayev [2] .
