Henry Bathurst, 3rd Earl Bathurst ( 3rd Earl Bathurst ; May 22, 1762 - July 27, 1834 ) - British government official from the Tory party , son of the 2nd Earl Bathurst, Foreign Minister affairs from October to December 1809.

Biography
Bathurst was elected to parliament in 1783 and after the death of his father in 1794, inherited his title and estates. In 1789, he married with the granddaughter of the 2nd Duke of Richmond . Thanks to his friendship with William Pitt, he held the posts of Lord Admiralty (in 1783-1789) and Lord of the Treasury (1789-1791). In 1793-1802 he participated in the management of British India . In 1804-1812 he oversaw national trade and the mint.
In the government of the Earl of Liverpool (1812-1827) Bathurst served as Minister of Defense and the Colonies, did much to abolish the slave trade .
His name was given to several cities and islands in Australia and Canada . In 1817 he was granted the Order of the Garter . At the end of his life as Lord President of the Council, he opposed the conduct of electoral reform .
