Brandon De Wilde ( born Brandon De Wilde , born Andre Brandon de Wilde (born Andre Brandon de Wilde ) [1] , April 9, 1942 - July 6, 1972 ) - American actor. Born in Brooklyn in a theatrical family. In seven years, he made his debut on Broadway in the production of "Wedding Party", [2] [3] and in 1952 appeared in the same film screen, for which he was awarded the prize "Donaldson". A year later, he successfully showed himself in the role of Joey Starrett in the famous Western George Stevens " Shane ", who brought him an Oscar nomination as the best supporting actor. In adult life, Brandon De Wilde continued to act in films and on television, until his death in a car accident in Colorado in July 1972. [3]
