The flag was approved on August 1, 2005 [1] and entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation with assignment of registration number 2197.
Content
Description
A rectangular panel with a ratio of width to length 2: 3, consisting of three horizontal stripes of blue (top, 3/5 width of the banner), yellow (in the middle, 1/5 of the width of the banner) and green. In the center of the blue strip is a yellow sun with fourteen semicircular spiral rays with a yellow grain-shaped ornament with a thin blue outline along the edge of the disk. On the yellow band are eleven blue spiral waves spinning from left to right. In the center of the green stripe there are three blue flowers with a yellow outline and the middle of a flax flower.
Symbols
The sun with 14 rays symbolizes the district center and 14 settlements of the Kimry district, united together. Blue waves remind of the rivers flowing into the Volga , and flax flowers - about the historical importance of flax cultivation in the agriculture of the region. [2]
