The flag was approved on June 16, 2000 [1] and entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation with assignment of registration number 623.
Description
“A rectangular green cloth with two horizontal, yellow stripes located at the edges. In the center of the green strip is an image of the yellow monastery gates (figures of the coat of arms of the Kalyazinsky district). The width of each yellow strip is 1/7 of the width of the flag. ”
The heraldic description of the coat of arms reads: “ In a green field are golden wooden gates without crosses, crowned with a cross .”
Symbols
The flag of the Kalyazinsky district is based on the historical emblem of the city of Kalyazin , highly approved on October 10 (21), 1780 [2] together with other emblems of the cities of Tver governorship : in the upper part of the shield is the coat of arms of Tver, in the lower part of the shield “ Old wooden monastery gate in a green field , meaning the antiquity of the monastery of that by which this city received its name . "
Kalyazinsko-Troitsky (Makaryevsky) monastery - the destroyed monastery in the city of Kalyazin, one of the most famous monasteries of the Tver land.
